"In early 2013, Brazil signed a $7.2 million contract with Massachusetts-based Endeavor Robotics, formerly the defense and security division of iRobot, for 30 of its PackBot 510 robots in preparation for a series of events considered possible terrorist targets—the soccer Confederations Cup and Pope Francis ’ first overseas trip in 2013, the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016.

“This was the largest security package of robots that we have sold into South America,” says Rob Birmingham, director of sales at Endeavor, which has sold close to 5,000 PackBots in more than 40 countries."
